Anger- the child trying to be heard

Anger, when observed without emotion can be likened to a child who screams not only because it doesn't know how else to be recognized, but also vents because it cannot fully grasp the feelings and situations it faces. The complexity of emotions overwhelms the mind and a burst of energy is released to vent tension built up. But this is an example of unconscious anger. Being angry for unjust things about this world, mistreatment etc. is another story. But for the most part anger is an underdeveloped part of ourselves that needs to be developed; a flabby aspect of our personality that needs to tighten up.. you get the point. But doing is harder than thinking and anything that results in progress takes time. Self awareness is important and in that comes many feelings about ourselves that can cause injury. We realize we are weak, we are stubborn, we are unhappy and we don't like realizing this. We don't like the truth. But alas, this is why we act out in anger to begin with. All the feelings of inadequacy, uncertainty, our discontent for the world, the fact that we have to abide by rules and laws, jobs and idiots in order to acquire the things we need to survive. I know this.

But in your anger you lose yourself to the battle in this life for personal freedom and identity. You become changed by the world, instead of changing the world. I know your fear of loss and your struggle with fate, I know that it takes everything that you have to face the day. And the virtues you possess only seem to bring pain, all you have is contempt for a life you can't obtain. Face your torment and dismantle your doubt. Refuse a legacy of shame and defeat. Remain untouched by the world and its woes. You want to be happy? Then practice being happy, thinking happy.
