If music be the food of love, play on," writes Shakespeare at the beginning of Twelfth Night. While music might set the mood for love, there is ample "food of love." Among the best aphrodisiacal sources (to be taken individually and sparingly, as recommended) are these:
(High cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, prostate cancers or inflammations, and hormonal imbalances cause the vast majority of all cases of impotence. The good news is that medical science suggests that all of these conditions can be managed or in some cases even prevented with raw foods.)
APRICOTS; APRICOT SEEDS: Apricots and their seeds contain abscisic acid (B-17), a cancer-preventing substance that activates, invigorates and sustains sexual hormones. Consumption of apricots does not provide the comprehensive benefits provided by their seeds, so you should have 5 to 15 apricot seeds several hours before any anticipated intimacy.
BLACK RASPBERRY (FRUIT AND SEEDS): This brain stimulating phytochemical-rich food enhances libido and endurance. Black-raspberry seeds contain plenty of nourishment to fuel intimacy. Have 10 black raspberries or, preferably, one tablespoon or soup spoon of the seeds two hours before anticipated intimacy.
DILL: This exceptionally nutritious herb is of particular benefit to women because of its ability to increase both the number and the structure of eggs. It also enhances the desire for intimacy. Take sunflower green sprouts — 7.5 milliliters (1/2 ounce) — before intercourse.
FIGS: Fresh figs contain nutrients that are considered excellent stimulants of fertility. They also enhance the secretion of pheromones, maximizing physical appeal. Eat three to five figs when you and your partner are sexually in the mood.
FLOWER POLLEN: The consumption of this pollen increases the number of leukocytes (white blood cells), strengthening the body for erotic adventure. Have one tablespoon or soup spoon of it every morning because, in addition to its aphrodisiacal qualities, flower pollen is an almost complete food that provides exceptional nutrition.
HIBISCUS: The fine sun tea from this flower is delightful to sip before, during and after intimacy, because it stimulates the glands involved in sexual activity.
JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE: This root vegetable, which is derived from the sunflower family, contains a unique form of complex carbohydrates that provides fortified energy without the sugars that attack the pancreas. The energy of Jerusalem artichokes invigorates the life force both generally and sexually. Consume 120 milliliters (four ounces) during the morning of the day's anticipated intimacy.
LENTIL SPROUTS: The minerals and vitamins in these sprouts increase the cellular activity of the sexually inciting hormones. Have 90 to 150 milliliters (three to five ounces) one hour before intimacy.
LETTUCE: Lettuce — especially iceberg lettuce — contains an opiate that activates sex hormones; as a result, it has been a popular aphrodisiac for millennia. Consume one bowlful approximately three hours before intimacy.
MULBERRIES: These phytonutrient-rich fruits are a historically validated aphrodisiac that couples have enjoyed as a source of seduction. Eat one or two handfuls just before foreplay.
NUTMEG: This aphrodisiacal herb literally heats the ovaries, fueling a woman's sexual desire. Have three or four milliliters (2 1/8 ounces) one hour before any anticipated intimacy.
AT SPROUTS: "Sow your wild oats" is not merely a colloquial expression, but a figurative representation of the beginning of an established aphrodisiacal practice. Consuming oat sprouts in their pure form increases the production of eggs and sperm, infusing you with sexual vitality. Take 90 to 120 milliliters (three to four ounces) three to four hours before probable intimacy.
PEA GREENS: This protein-rich sprout contains significant concentrations of amino acids to enhance the production of red blood cells, thereby causing sexual arousal in males. Juice and drink 60 to 120 milliliters (two to four ounces) an hour before intimacy. Eating pea greens in salad form also provides modest erotic stimulation.
RADICCHIO: This leafy vegetable furnishes minerals and trace minerals that encourage and enhance sexual endurance in both women and men. Have 1/11th liter (two ounces) eight hours before anticipated intimacy.
SPELT SPROUTS: The combination of vitamins and amino acids in these protein-rich grains increases sexual endurance by increasing healthy hormone count. Eat one cup two to four hours before intimacy.
TOMATO SEEDS (ONLY ORGANIC): The seeds of sun-dried organic tomatoes contain various phytonutrients that invigorate glands and promote the development of sex hormones. Have 1/11th to 1/7th liters (two to three ounces) an hour before intimacy.
WATERMELON SEED SPROUTS: The condensed complete proteins in these sprouts increase the number of leukocytes (white blood cells), thereby enhancing general vitality and sensual intensity. Juice and drink 180 milliliters (six ounces) four hours before intimate activity.
YAMS: Raw yams — either grated or sprouted — elevate hormonal levels (including those of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, DHA, etc.) of both women and men, preparing and prompting each to perform effectively and at length. Consume 1/7th to 1/3rd liters (three to six ounces) two hours before contact.
ZUCCHINI (raw or juiced): The deep roots of this summer squash absorb trace minerals that build both red and white blood cells, helping to cleanse veins and capillaries, enhancing the circulation of oxygen that increases and intensifies both desire and performance. Eat either an entire zucchini (two to three ounces) or drink 60 to 90 milliliters (again, two to three ounces) three hours before each performance . . . and don't be surprised by an encore!
The combination of romantic love, exhilarating thought, and nutritional enhancement elevates erotic pleasure to sublime exhilaration; enjoy every minute of it.
