I before U

- " That's my book"
- " I don't think it is"
- " No, it is"
- " I don't think so"
-" You are starting to make me angry"

"I am", " Me", "MINE" the words are used a million times a week. We speak so confident in our reference to ourselves. The ancients would depict the self as part of the whole, an extension of the universe, of nature. In separation we create duality, duality creates distorted perception which creates suffering in the mind. When you exist separate from the whole you exist in misery, because you become disconnected- and nobody is causing this except you. This is mine. Look at the words, what are we saying? I own, possess this, I identify and find myself in this world through attachment to temporal things. And if you challenge this, if you tell me it is not mine I become unhappy. My happiness depends on my accumulation of personal items and artifacts to feel meaning and purpose in my life. How dare you interfere with my things, my objects, MINE. I would even fight you, friend or family if you do not recognize proper ownership to these items, if my ego is not respected. I will overpower you, shout at you, disrespect and hurt you, because I know nothing else.

This is extreme emotional leaning; like a crutch and when someone moves it we feel how unstable we become, it makes us uncertain and in contact with real life and we become defensive. We should learn to collect ourselves rather than the garbage that takes up physical space in our lives, closing the space within the heart as well.

Beyond the constant state of change your body is in, from the transient nature of cells on your face and throughout your body that are constantly influx; you are much more than "I" will ever reveal. You are not your name, that was given to you. You are not your beliefs, those were chosen and change in due time. You are not what you think, you are not what you believe or what you see in the mirror. You are much more. There literally are different worlds in which we live; there's the macroscopic world that we see, there's the world of our cells, there's the world of our atoms, there's the world of our nuclei. These are each totally different worlds. They have their own language. They have their own mathematics. They're not just smaller, each is totally different."But they're complimentary. Because I am my atoms. But I am also my cells. I'm also my macroscopic physiology. It's all true, there are just different levels of truth. The deepest level of truth uncovered by science, and by philosophy, is the fundamental truth of unity. At that deepest, sub-nuclear level of our reality you and I are literally one.

Where do you begin, where you end? Can you feel every part of you dying, being born, regenerating and healing? When you hold an apple and proclaim that it is separate from you, can you feel it become part of you when you eat it? Was it ever really separate from you?

Billions of years ago the particles that make you up were part of a star in the universe, but now you are a complicated human being. Georges LemaĆ®tre was a Catholic priest who was the first to propose the big bang theory which states, all things were one before the big bang and since all was one before the big bang, it remains one. Space gives the illusion of separate objects. And we cut ourselves off and don’t feel that we are still the big bang, but we are. If depends how we define ourselves, we are actually not something that is a result of the big bang, we are not something that is a sort of pocket on the end of the process, we are the process. We are unfolding constantly in the great unfolding of the divine process. We are the primordial energy of the universe. We’ve learned to define ourselves as separate from it. So if all energy is one, from one universe, one source then there is no such things as things. The physical world is always moving. People try to build things that last in an existence of constant change. When you want to get control of change, it is difficult. The more you squeeze to contain water the less of it you actually grasp. The ocean waves and the universe peoples. We are consciousness, the way we feel and sense our existence, has been influenced to not feel our deeper heritage. We are more than something that happens between the maternity ward and the crematorium.

The growing process even from the womb is much different than the making or creation process. Even tables, houses and art are constructions, which show the fundamental difference between the made and maker, getting rid of the ceramic model of existence. Each one of us, fundamentally deep within is an act of ,a function of , a performance of ,a manifestation of the works, the whole blinking cosmos with all its galaxies and for ever and ever and whatever is beyond that, what you might call God in western tradition or Brahman in Hindu or Tao in Chinese. We are pretending we are not this dimensional, we pretend with great skill, but simply observing life and listening to the words it’s teachers shows otherwise.

The need to hold on to items, tangible things is a fear of change, any fear of change is rooted in the uncertainty of impermanence- of death. But who dies? And who is born? The ego dies and the ego is born. Deep down, where ego is no more, you are never born and you never die. You are eternal, you are eternity, you are the very substratum , the very stuff that existence is made of- how can you die? And in that eternity we have everything we will ever need, so there is no need to struggle or push or fight to gain respect or material things.
